Dr. Pitts lives in Sanford. He has a daughter who lives in Chapel Hill and son and daughter-in-law who live in Carrboro. He speaks a little Spanish and knows how to say "hello" in about ten languages. Prior to joining CCOA, he has been a physician for 33 years. He was a General Practitioner for three years in the United States Public Health Service in Alberta, Virginia. He was the only Orthopaedic Surgeon for South-West Texas and Northern Mexico for a 150 mile radius around the city of Del Rio, Texas for four years. He has practiced medicine in the City of Medicine, Durham, for the last 20 years. Dr. Pitts enjoys working out, scuba diving, snorkeling, walking, reading, bicycling, talking to people, roller-skating, and dining out.
